Global Petro Metal Social
Responsibility
We have a strong commitment to being a deeply
responsible company, by contributing to our community
both in the United States and abroad, in support
to the disadvantage and vulnerable, in particular
children.
Starting in 2009, Global Petro Metal will embrace our
responsibility to people and to the planet by
contributing a portion of our earnings towards making
our world a better place.
Some of the organizations we are considering at the
present time are: Sonrisas de Bombay, an organization
founded in 2004 by Spanish journalist Jaume Sanllorente.
This organization is helping those in need by feeding
the less fortunate and assisting with the construction
of new schools in
Bombay, India. “Education
is the only key our kids will have to open the door to
their freedom”.

Another organization we are considering is “Project
Peanut Butter”. Project Peanut Butter is a therapeutic
feeding program for malnourished children in Malawi and Sierra Leone, on
the continent of Africa.
It was founded by Professor Mark Manary, M.D., a
pediatrician at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and a
professor of pediatric medicine at Washington University
School of Medicine. Dr. Manary was the first to conduct
clinical trials of Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF),
a peanut/dairy/vitamin/mineral food that offers a 95%
recovery rate for severely malnourished children and is
administered in the home.
In 2007, the United Nations System Standing Committee
on Nutrition, the World Health Organization and UNICEF
issued a
joint statement, establishing Dr.
Manary’s community-based treatment protocols and formula
as the most effective method by which to treat severely
malnourished children the world over.
